Hans-Friedrich Haage * 1942

After he finished his studies in horticulture in 1969 he managed the now state-owned company from 1972 as a so called "Betriebsleiter". Under his management the company was restituted back into the hands of the Haage family after the German reunification in the early 1990s.

Hans-Friedrich Haage lead the company from that day on and put a trade on end sales.

With the help of his son Ulrich, Hans-Friedrich Haage turned Kakteen-Haage around in this economcally difficult times. Increasing labour costs and the competition from cheaper imports forced the company to refocus as a specialist supplier of high quality and rare plants. The product range was extended onto caudex plants, tillandsia, room bonsai, bucket plants and fuchsia.
Kakteen-Haage carried on the tradition and took part in several national and international exhibitions as the biannual Bundesgartenschau or the Gruene Woche in Berlin. Hans-Friedrich Haage is also author of the book "Neumanns Ratschläge - Kakteen" .

Thereby he successfully expanded Kakteen-Haage´s mail order business on an international scale.
